One of members of Wahhabis' group showing armed resistance to Azerbaijani Interior Troops in Gusar arrested

Press Service of Dagestan Republic Interior Ministry told APA’s local bureau that Mirzamagomedov used to take food to the "Forest Brothers" group, who showed armed resistance to Azerbaijani Interior Troops in Gusar Region on August 29.

Resident of Kasun village of Dagestan’s Maharramkand region Pirmagomed Mirzamagomedov is supposed to have come to Azerbaijan along with the armed group headed by Mollachiyev and returned. Law-enforcement bodies of Dagestan continue operations to find other members of the group.

The members of the "Forest Brothers" group, who offered armed resistance to the military servicemen of interior troops in Gusar Region of Azerbaijan, once partook in the military operations against Russians in Chechnya and Dagestan. On August 25 the law-enforcement bodies received information that the group headed by Ilgar Mollachiyev crossed the border and entered the territory of Azerbaijan. The Police, quick-reaction forces, Special Force of Interior Troops "Shahin", units of Border Troops and officers of the Ministry of National Security were involved in the operation. On August 29 Police and Interior Troops launched operations after receiving information that the members of the group were hiding near Hezre village of Gusar region. Armed criminals felt that the operation had started and went to the forest.

Shooting began between the servicemen of Special Force of Interior Troops "Shahin" and armed group. The group members threw grenades to the servicemen and fired at them with submachine guns. As a result of it, Ali Yolchuyev, serviceman of "Shahin" Special Force, died on the spot. It has been impossible yet to get information whether the armed group had casualties. A great deal of weapons and goods were confiscated.

The General Prosecutor’s Office launched criminal case on the fact on article 120.1 (premeditated murder) of the Criminal Code. Prosecutor’s Office told APA that Department of Grave Crimes of General Prosecutor’s Office carries out the investigation. No one has been detained over the fact yet.
