Azerbaijan accounts for more than 100,000 foreigners

Most of the foreigners, residing in the country, come from Russia, Georgia, Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, India, China and Philippines.

By statistics, the number of persons, willing to become Azerbaijani citizen, has risen in comparison with 1999. The most frequent applicants for citizenship are comers from Russia, Iran, Georgia and Baltic states.

Moreover, through the past 7 years, 5500 foreign citizens have got official permission of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, though unofficial data is even higher.
