Haji Ilqar Ibrahimoghlu: "The happening in the Abu Bekr mosque became a result of an improper Muslim enlightenment in Azerbaijan"

"Throwing a grenade to a mosque window is not a typical event for Azerbaijan", said Haji Ilgar Ibrahimoghlu, chief of the DEVAMM center for protection of freedom of conscience and religion. "This action is incredible, as a normal Azerbaijani does not settle problems like this. You know, I would not want this terrorist act to become a precedent in Azerbaijan. Such things can not become systematic! Everyone should resist the happening".

According to Ibrahimoghlu, the only thing he can tell is that such an unpleasant event occurred also because the professional Islam enlightenment is on the lowest level in Azerbaijan.

"There are no religious programmes on Azerbaijani Television and radical groupings take an advantage of it. For if a young man wants to come to a religion, but he does not know how to do it, there will be people who may fool him with a propaganda. This is an incorrect approach to Islam, but such people use the absence of the real Muslim enlightenment", said he.
