Video materials proving intimate relationships between Agil Halil and Sergey Strekalin to be brought to court

The Yasamal district court, presided by just Khaqani Taghiyev held a court hearing on the appeal of Azadlyg newspaper correspondent Ahil Halil, against the prosecutor general's office, inspector Ali Guliyev and TV channels (AzTV, Lider, Space, ATV), reports Day.Az with reference to the Institute for Reporter Freedom and Safety.

The appeal says that defenders of AzTV, ATV and prosecutor's office were absent at the court process.

Speaking in the court, Halil's defender Elchin Sadikhov noted that the video materials, demonstrated by the TV channels, are assessed as humilation of dignity and honor of his defendant and noted that it contradicts to local and international legislation.

Defenders of Space and Lider TV channels said the essence of the claim is unclear to them and petitioned for the plaintiff brought the said video material to the court. Defender Elchin Sadikhov also petitioned for that.

The court granted the petition of both sides. The next court hearing will be held on July 30 at 17:00.

It should be noted that the aforementioned TV channels demonstrated a video material during which homosexual Sergey Strekalin confessed that he had intimate relationships with Azadlyg newspaper correspondent Agil Halil.
