Azerbaijani frontier guards shoot a smuggler dead on the Iranian-Azerbaijani border

A fire exchange occurred late July 18 in the territory of the Fizuli region on the Iranian-Azerbaijani border, reports Day.Az with reference to ANS-PRESS.
A criminal group of 14 people attempted to smuggle a large volume of drugs to Azerbaijan.

One of the group members-resident of Shukurbeyli village Matlab Shukurov was shot dead in the result of a fire exchange between the criminal group and law enforcement bodies. The rest 13 members of the criminal group were detained.

250 kg of drugs were confiscated from them.
