A station named after Heydar Aliyev to open in Russia

The opening ceremony of the station of Angoy settlement on Baikal-Amur highway in Russia to be named after national leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev will be held on July 18 of 2008, according to the spokesman for the Azerbaijan State Railway Administration Nadir Azmamedov, according to Day.Az.

He said Ali Hasanov, chief of public policy department of the presidential administration, Transport Minister Ziya Mamedov, chief of Azerbaijan State Railway Service Arif Askerov, deputy executive secretary of the Yeni Azerbaijan party Siyavush Novruzov and mass media representatives have left for the opening ceremony.

It should be noted that national leader Heydar Aliyev was leading the construction of the Baikal-Amur highway and made a large contribution to the implementation of this large scale project.

The said station and the settlement was constructed by Azerbaijani representatives. Large Azerbaijani diaspora is residing in Angoy.
