Landslide leaves about 200 people without food and water in Azerbaijan's northern region

11 July 2008 [09:20] - TODAY.AZ
About 200 people, taking a rest in Khaltan, have not been able to leave the area due to the landslide in Quba-Qusar region.
They are hiding from rainfall in tents, reports Day.Az with reference to ANS-PRESS.

According to relatives of one of these persons, the bus could not get to the place, as the roads are all destroyed.

"Ural trucks directed there but returned due to the poor state of the roads", said one of the relatives.

As is reported, people, among whom there are tens of elderly people and children, are short of water and food and isolated from the external world. They have been deprived of food for two days already.

The executive powers of the Devechi region confirmed information that the roads in the Khaltan direction are in a poor state, while information about people, isolated in that place, is being defined.
