1320 AIDS-infected people registered in Azerbaijan last year

60 per cent of them are the intravenous drug addicts, said Araz Aliguliyev, head of the Working Group of the State Commission against the Drug Abuse and Illicit Drug Trafficking, APA reports.

He said 48 drug addicts were infected with AIDS in 2006 and this figure reached 140 in 2007. Aliguliyev said it was indication of the increasing of intravenous drug addicts on the other hand no purposed results of the measures against the drug abuse.
