Officials of Ombudsman's office visited director of the Institute for Reporters' Freedom and Safety Emin Huseynov at the Emergency Medical Service Hospital, reports Ombudsman's press service.
Thus, a doctor on duty of the reanimation and intensive therapy department noted that Huseynov's state is stable, he was brought to the hospital with a diagnosis of traumatic brain injury and he has been recently diagnosed with neurotic reaction.
Ombudsman Elmira Suleymanov has appealed to Azerbaijan's Ministry of Internal Affairs with a request to ensure objective investigation of the said issue.
It should be noted that on June 14 of 2008, law enforcement officers detained a number of youth representatives, marking 80th birthday of slain Cuban revolutionist Ernesto Che Guevara in Alaturk cafe. Among them there were reporters, as well as human rights activist-head of the Institute for Reporters Freedom and Safety Emin Huseynov.
Huseynov said during the detention he sustained pressure by persons in a civilian form, due to which his state worsened and he was placed in the Emergency Medical Service Hospital.
