About 2,000 foreigners have been deported from Azerbaijan

"About 8,000 people have appealed to Azerbaijan regarding the status of a refugee", said chairman of the public union "Center of legal assistance to migrants" Alovsat Aliyev.

He said these are citizens of Pakistan, India, Vietnam, Iran, Afghanistan, Russia (from Chechnia) and others, but the number of citizens, who got the status of refugees, make at least 100 people.

"About 500,000 citizens of Georgia, native Azerbaijanis, illegally work in our country, mainly engaged in the private sector", noted Aliyev.

He said the number of migrants, arriving in Azerbaijan is growing as compared to previous years.

Aliyev noted that there are over 2,000 Chinese migrants and about 1,000 Philippines in our country.

"Through the whole period of the activity of the head department of passports, registration and migration of the Interior Ministry, about 2,000 foreigners have been deported from the country", resumed Aliyev.
