06 June 2008 [11:33] - TODAY.AZ
"Personal ambitions and intention to lead hampers unification of Azerbaijanis, living beyond our country", said chairman of political movement "The path opf Azerbaijan" Ilqar Qasimov, who is invited for both sessions of the Congress of World Azerbaijanis.

He said it is necessary to create an institute of chairmanship to the World Azerbaijanis Congress as a way our of the situation.

"I would recommend that one of the co-chairs is from South and another is from North Azerbaijan to soften differences among Azerbaijanis, residing outside the country. I have said once and I want to stress now that the less politicized the diaspora environment is, the most effective its activity would be.

They should not be ordered to love their country. I hope that both sessions will focus on the unification of the world Azerbaijanis and restoration of the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.

The events in the diaspora environment is a reflection of the reality in Azerbaijan, and the divide et empera principle here has a reserved effect. We should stop divide the diaspora into ours and outsiders", said he.

It should be noted that the Congress of World Azerbaijanis has split into two parts. The leadership of the structure decided to debar chairman Gulamrza Sabri tebrizi from the post and elected Sabir Rustamkhanly while Tebrizi considers it illegal and states that he is a chairman of the World Congress.

Rustamkhanly's supporters will hold a session of the World Azerbaijanis Congress in Keln (Germany) on May 6-7 and Tebrizi's in Brussels on June 20-23.
