Criminal case for causing severe injury to serviceman instituted against editor-in-chief of Gundelik Baki newspaper

Day.Az reports with reference to the Institute for Reporters Freedom and Safety that the due announcement was made by editorial director of the newspaper Adil Huseynli.

He said according to materials of the criminal case, Veliyev caused severe damage to soldier Ali Yusifov, thus injuring his little finger.

Huseynli noted that Veliyev faces charges under article 188 (violation of right of property on land) and 315.1 ( use of force, resistance with use of force towards power representatives due to fulfillment of his duties or use of violence, not dangerous for life or health, towards his close relatives and the threat of use such violence) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan.

"Veliyev constructed a building for conduction of festivities and provision of ritual services in the area, controlled by the Ministry of Defense. On February 25 of this year the building was taken down by the soldiers of the house operation service of the operational department under the Ministry, which resulted in a damage to Yusifov by the editor-in-chief", said Huseynli.
