Azerbaijan's First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva awarded IOC high diploma

Mehriban Aliyeva, member of the Executive Committee of Azerbaijan National Olympic Committee, President of the Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation was awarded a high diploma of the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
The Diploma is awarded to those who have meritorious services at International Olympic Movement.

Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva was awarded this Diploma for her significant role in women’s participation in sport, as well as their continuous achievements.

After Mehriban Aliyeva was elected President of the Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation in 2002 this kind of sport saw huge development in the country.

Azerbaijani gymnasts participated in the Athens 2004 Olympic Games and they will also attend the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. Azerbaijan also hosts international gymnastics contests.

This Diploma once again shows that National Olympic Committee of Azerbaijan has a great image in the world.
