Azerbaijan ready to spend $28 bln on 2016 Olympic Games

If Baku is chosen to host the 2016 Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games, it will cost Azerbaijan $28bn, said vice-president of National Olympic Committee Chingiz Huseynzadeh, APA-Sport agency reports.

Huseynzadeh said they were aware of the amount spent by the countries that had hosted Olympic Games. "Russia has forecasted $14bn. for 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi. If this amount is forecasted for Winter Olympic Games, it will double for Summer Olympic Games," he said.

Official of National Olympic Committee said our country was ready to pay this sum.

Huseynzadeh said the International Olympic Committee would also help.

"The Bid Book of Baku covers all these issues," he said.
