Number of onсologic patients rising by 10-15% in Azerbaijan per year

The due announcement was made by head oncologist of the country Fuad Merdanly.

He said over 24,000 citizens of Azerbaijan suffer from these disease today. According to Merdanly, of them most women suffer from breast cancer and men from lung cancer. The second on the list is the pancreatic cancer.

Merdanly said that the number of oncologic patients has risen through the last 3-4 years, yet methods and quality of combat with cancer have improved.

According to him, the diseases can be cured at the first and second stages, therefore citizens should visit doctors timely.

"It is impossible to reveal the main reason of oncologic diseases, as every form has its own reasons.

Citizens should consult doctors in time. Doctors of clinics and local hospitals, why are directly contacting with patients play a special role in this issue", said Merdanly.
