Livingstone public library and three students of University Montana awarded with Heydar Aliyev's premium -PHOTO

The award was presented by the consul general personally.

The award has been presented for library's contribution to the development of the educational basis in the sphere of international relations. Thus, one of the first concerts of Azerbaijani Mugham in Montana was held in this very library.

The demonstration of the film "The Pilgrim", by Rustam Ibrahimbekov, was arranged in the library under support of the consulate general this year.

The library also received a number of books, including the multimedia publication about the musical heritage of Karabakh, published under support of Heydar Aliyev's foundation,

The first laureates of the annual premium of Heydar Aliyev for students of Montana state, studying Azerbaijan, became students of the Montana university Clay Bernett, Ansrew Miller and Ross Pedi. The premium of the consulate general was awarded to the hearers of the course on Azerbaijan, delivered by famous expert on the region Tomas Holz, for successful researches on the topic of Azerbaijani history and culture.

Speaking at the awarding ceremony Merdad Kia, head of the program of Middle and South-Western Asia of Montana University, stressed the balanced external policy of Azerbaijan, laid by Heydar Aliyev. He noted that Heydar Aliyev's approaches remain samples of political pragmatism and foresight.

In the framework of annual conference on Middle Asia and Caucasus in the Montana University, Suleymanov took part in discussing the role of religion in the communities of Middle Asia and Caucasus and told the students, studying Azerbaijan, about Heydar Aliyev's contribution to the Azerbaijani state system.

Azerbaijani mugham, performed by US musician Geoffrey Verbok, was voiced for the conference participants.

Moreover, the consul general also spoke before the students of the State University of Montana in Bozman and met with the leadership of the said university.
