25 April 2008 [11:51] - TODAY.AZ
The Yasamal district prosecutor's office continues investigation on case of causing heavy physical damage leading to death of 63 year old refugee woman from Aghdam, Rafiqa Aliyeva.
On April 2 of this year, woman was brutally beaten in the building of the Committee for Refugees and IDPs. The victim was staying in the Central Clinic. Doctors removed her spleen and stated the rib fracture, as well as other damages. But they were not able to save her. The woman died on the 20th day following signing in.

Yet, the person, who is suspected in the crime, has not been detained though his identity and whereabouts are known.

It should be reminded that on April 2 the woman came to the state committee to settle the problem with her energy debts. R.Aliyeva wanted to meet with Ali Hasanov, head of the structure. But she was not allowed in. But later the police officer beat her.

Spokesman for the State Committee for refugees and IDPs Sanan Huseynov told Echo that this is not the fault of the committee officials. "The police officer committed violence. Moreover, Aliyeva suffered from diabetes. We always helped her. Currently, we help her relatives with mourning processions. Certainly, if the prosecutor's office reveals that the police officer committed a crime, we are for bringing him to responsibility", said Huseynov.

Yet, according to victim's son Nazim Aliyev, his mother was beaten by police sergeant, officer of Security Department Hasanov Mamedali Bayramali oghlu, who is currently free and the prosecutor's office is interested in smothering the case.

Echo correspondent has also appealed to the district prosecutor's office, where he was told that it is early to make the investigation materials public.
