British pedophile, arrested in Azerbaijan, released in the court room

The decision was passed during the trial chaired by Judge Mehdi Asadov in the Court of Grave Crimes on the basis of Azerbaijani legislation.

If 15 years pass since the crime was committed , a person cannot be convicted.

The court decided to release the British citizen based on that.

The British citizen was accused in the sexual abuses in his country in 1975-1977 and wanted via Interpol.

The Ministry of Justice of Azerbaijan received request via the diplomatic channels about the court decision on the O’Brian’s arrest and extradition.

Later O’Brian was detained in Baku in February and Sabayil District Court passed decision on three-month arrest.
