11 April 2008 [11:17] - TODAY.AZ
The results of the monitoring of avian flu, carried out by the State Veterinary Service under the Azerbaijan Ministry of Agriculture on March 31, were made public.
The due announcement was made by Yolchu Khanveli, spokesman for the State Veterinary Service.

He said blood samples and pathogenic materials were taken from 26 wild birds and 2,133 poultry heads. The analysis did not reveal bird flu virus.

"Considering possible spread of avian flu in Azerbaijan by migrating birds, the state veterinary service continues monitoring and the next monitoring will start on May 12", said Khanveli.
