Azerbaijan's detention facilities accounting for nearly 200 AIDS carriers

The due announcement was made by Nazim Alakbarov, Deputy Justice Minister and Chief of Penitentiary Service.

Commenting of Director of AIDS Control Center Hagigat Gadirova’s report on increase of AIDS patients in Penitentiary System of the country, Alakbarov said that he did not understand the reason of such statements.

“AIDS is a social disease, a lot of people suffer from it,” he said. Alakbarov added that there are about 200 AIDS carriers in detention facilities at present.
