Nazim Alekperov: "About 1000 prisoners receive medical treatment from tuberculosis"

The due announcement was made by Nazim Alekperov, chief of the Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice.

He said, cases of death from tuberculosis among prisoners have reduced by 10 times as compared to the previous five years.

"Tuberculosis, which is a social disease, has been fixed not only in the correctional wards. Persons, who come to the investigation wards, undergo medical examination, which reveals carriers of this disease", Alekperov said.
