Persons accused of beating Azadlyg newspaper reporter deny the charge

The due announcement was made by a source from Azerbaijan's Institute for Reporters' Freedom and Safety.

Thus, the investigator of police station No 7 of Binagadi district Elnur Aliyev noted that according to experts' conclusion, the inspection revealed abrasions, which formed not during the fight, but 4-5 days ago.

Investigator E.Aliyev noted that persons accused of beating the reporter, were questioned.

"During the questioning, they denied the fact of beating. They said misunderstanding occurred between them when Khalilov was taking their photos and they abused each other", the investigator noted.

It should be noted that reporter of Azadlyg opposition newspaper Agil Khalilov was reported beaten by two persons in Baku on February 22.
