Visit schedule of Cardinal Bertone to Azerbaijan released

From 6 to 9 March, Cardinal Secretary of State Tarcisio Bertone S.D.B. will be visiting Azerbaijan where he will meet Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Prime Minister Arthur Rasizadeh, Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov and other officials.

He will attend the inauguration of St. Maria Catholic Church in the framework of the visit.

Representatives of Azerbaijani government, representatives of diplomatic corps accredited in Baku, religious figures and foreign guests will participate in the event on March 7.

Cardinal Bertone will visit “Teze Pir” mosque, Orthodox Church and synagogue and meet Sheikh Allashukur Pashazade, head of Muslims in the Caucasus.

He will hold Sunday Prayer for Catholics living in Azerbaijan on March 9.
