21 February 2008 [18:31] - TODAY.AZ
The extraction of the fragments of MiG-29 air force jet, which crashed into the Caspian Sea on January 29, and bodies of two pilots depends on weather conditions.

According to Novosti-Azerbaijan, the due announcement was made by Azerbaijan's Minister of Emergencies Kemaleddin Heydarov.

"If weather conditions are appropriate, the works at extraction of MiG-29 air force jet and a corpse of one of the pilots will be initiated", he noted.

MiG-29 and a corpse of one of the pilots were found at a depth of 15-17 meters 6 kilometers away from the shore. The whereabouts of the second pilot are unknown.

Heydarov also added that a due technique was used for extraction of jet fragments. The search is carried out by the forces of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan and State Frontier Service.

It should be reminded that Azerbaijan purchased modernized air force jets MiG-29 of Russian production from Ukraine last year.
