50 Azerbaijanis killed by Russian nationalists last year

Increased number of attacks on people with non-Slavic appearance in Moscow made representatives of national Diaspora groups of Moscow meet with deputy mayor of the capital city Valeri Vinogradov and head of the Moscow State Bureau of Internal Affairs Vladimir Pronin.

Tofik Melikov, chairman of the Ochaq society of Azerbaijani culture, announced that a part of national elite leaves Moscow due to fear and inconveniences.

"50 Azerbaijanis were killed last year by Russian nationalists", Melikov noted.

One of the leaders of the Azerbaijani diaspora in Russia Soyun Sadikov announced that about 30 coffins were brought to Georgia and over 100 to Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.

Vladimir Pronin, in turn, presented official statistical data on Moscow. Foreigners committed 12,000 crimes in the capital city in 2007, against 6,000 ones committed against foreigners.
