$1,000 allocated for Azerbaijani opposition reporters

The due information has been provided by the press service for the league of Democratic reporters, Novosti-Azerbaijan reports.

The Board of the fund decided to grant 4 appeals regarding financial assistance, transfered to the fund.
 
The assets will be distributed as follows: $300 are allocated for the family of imprisoned reporter of the Azadlyg newspaper Mirza Sakit, $300 to the Yeni Musavat newspaper to pay to the court defender.

$200 are allocated to Yeni Musavat newspaper official Khakimeldost Mekhtiyev for repayment of lawyer's services, and the remaining $200 to Ayna newspaper reporter Sadraddin Ismaylov as a compensation for the lost job.

The Fund was founded by the following organizations: Yeni Nesil, Azerbaijan Reporters' Union, Fund named after Najaf Najafov and League of Democratic Reporters under financial support of the Institute of Open Society-the Soros Fund.
