Azerbaijani Council on Press appeals to Ilham Aliyev with request to pardon imprisoned reporters

The letter reads that such a humanistic step would be another indication of respect, shown to the freedom of speech and press, human rights in Azerbaijan.

According to the letter, before it was sent, A.Amashov had met with a group of imprisoned reporters.

During the meeting, the chairman of the Council took interest in the housing conditions, and studied their attitude towards pardoning. The council decided to appeal to the President of the country for the purpose of releasing the mass media representatives.
