International Architectire Festival to be held in Azerbaijan

The due resolution was adopted at a regular plenum of the Directors' Board of the Union, which aimed to sum up three months of activity since the conduction of the 17th session in September of this year.

According to the plenum participants, within the past period, the union took part in three international arrangements. By results of the contest of graduation works, held in Vologda, the graduates of the Azerbaijan State University of Architecture and Construction were awarded with four first degree diplomas.

Later the first secretary of the Union Elbey Gasymzade chaired the jury of the Festival of Architecture in Moscow. Four Azerbaijani architects received the highest  awards of the international contest "The Best Project of the Year", held in Moscow, which included the works of architectors from the CIS, Eastern European and Asian countries.

The financial state of the Union has also improved. It was noted during the plenum, that the organization was supported by private construction companies, project institutions and independent architects.

The plenum participants discussed and ratified new rules for admission of new members. They decided to release retired architects from membership dues and expel those, who fail to pay the membership dues for more than three months.

The plenum ratified the Code of Professional Ethics, staff of the Board of Professional Ethics, as well as the Presidium of the Union and art commissions.

The Board was set a task to resolve differences inside the Union, between architects and customers and between architects and governmental or public organizations.

It was proposed to set up an expert commission to make assessments for conduction of public discussions of projects on town-building, as well as a Fund of Architects.
