Azeri city of Lenkoran leading on list of HIV-infected people

The number of officially registered HIV-infected people has risen by 3 points up to 116 people this year.

In this sense, Lenkoran lags behind Baku and Sumgayit, but as the population of these two cities is larger than in Lenkoran, it can be said that Lenkoran is leading by the per capita HIV-infected people.

This virus infected both women and children and has caused death to 7 patients, including a woman among them, this year.

Close migration ties with Russia and drug addiction are the main sources of infection. The virus thus infects men, who spread it in their families.
