High temperature is forecasted in Azerbaijan in July-August

The temperature is 1-2 degree above climate norm in most regions at present as a result of hot air flow entered to Azerbaijan.

The maximal temperature is 30-33 degrees in the Absheron Peninsula, APA reports.

The temperature is expected to rise to 35 degrees, Azerbaijan's Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry (ENRM) National Hydrometeorological Department's Forecasting Bureau chairwoman Umayra Tagiyeva told.

Change is observed in temperature compared with the beginning of May. Tagiyeva informing about the weather forecast for summer months said that the tendency of last years shows that long-lasting hot days will dominate in summer.

"The temperature rose to 39-40 degrees within two or three days of summer in Baku last year. 41 degrees was recorded and it was absolute maximal temperature for Azerbaijan. As high temperature is being observed in Azerbaijan within 10-15 days, the weather is forecasted to be high in summer 2007," she said.

The temperature will be high in Azerbaijan especially in July-August. The vice-director not regarding it rare case said hot summer is characteristic for Azerbaijan. She regards that the rise of the temperature to 35-38 degrees in Republic should be accepted as normal case.

"Azerbaijan's geographical position is creating condition for it. We have already got used to hot weather. Therefore the high temperature should not be regarded as unusual case," she said.
