Preliminary court proceeding on Ferhad Aliyev and 17 more defendants continues

The judge stated that the petition of Ferhad Aliyev's lawyer Elton Guliyev was rejected. Following this, the judge specified the individual information about the defendants, APA reports.

Ferhad Aliyev said the information about him is not exact. He said that the indictment was delayed and disallowing foreign lawyers to the trial contradicts international conventions. Ferhad Aliyev said that he signed a contract with lawyer Adil Ismayilov and asked the court to clarify his dismissal.

The judge said the case is out of question grounding on the decision of Sebayel district court and Appeals Court. Underlining the necessity of all defendants' participating in the trial Elton Guliyev wanted the court to ground officially the court’s banning to copy necessary documents.

Fuad Agayev, lawyer for Rafig Aliyev accused the court of violating consistency of the preliminary court proceeding. Judge Pashayev warned Fuad Agayev for interrupting. Break was announced in the trial.

The defendants face charges under articles 179.3.1, 179.3.2 (embezzlement), 192.2, 192.2 (illegal entrepreneurship), 213.4 (evasion of taxes), 308.2 (abuse of power), 311.3.1, 311.2, 311.3.3 (bribery), 313 (exceeding power).

Feahad Aliyev faces charges under articles (Art. 179.3.1, 1179.3.2, 192.2.1, 192.22.2, 206.4, 213.4, 308.2, 311.3.1, 311.3.2, 311.3.3, 313) his brother Rafig Aliyev, former president of Azpetrol Group of Companies under (Art. 179.3.1, 179.3.2, 188, 192.2.1, 192.2.2, 206.3.1, 206.4, 213.4, 259 and 313).

According to the indictment Ferhad Aliyev committed crimes from 1999 till October 2005. He organized a criminal gang from his relatives and subordinate officers and led the preparation of the plan of crimes. Ferhad Aliyev is accused of privatizing establishment belonging to Supreme Court and Appeals Court, area under Icherisheher (the Old City) Historical-architectural Preserve, Sport goods shop #94, Gafgaz trade house, establishments under AzerTAC State Telegraph Agency, scientific-research library of State Agency for Standardization, Metrology and Patents, and area belonging to Ganja Carpet Center.
