Norwegian Center opened in Baku

Norwegian center has been opened in Azerbaijan State University of Languages.

President of the university, parliamentarian Samad Seyidov told the APA that Norwegian language is being taught at the university for a year, nine students are learning English and Norwegian simultaneously.

"Specialists from Norway, teachers, Norwegian companies operating in Azerbaijan, as well as Statoil support the initiative," he said.

Seyidov said that Norwegian center is supplied with necessary equipment and books. The rector said Swedish center will open at the university in future.

French, German, English, Spanish, Italian, Austrian, South Korean and Israeli centers are operating at the university at present. US center is planed to be opened at the university soon.

Norwegian ambassador to Azerbaijan Johan Ramberg, parliamentarians, representatives of Statoil Company and two officers of Norwegian Foreign Ministry visiting Baku attended the opening of the Norwegian Center.
