World Health Day to be marked in Azerbaijan

The following events will be held in Azerbaijan:

1. "Implementation of the HIV prevalence survey among most at risk population groups in Azerbaijan" - preparation workshop (Baku, April 2-4, 2007.) The purpose of the workshop is the implementation of HIV second generation surveillance.

The representatives from the Ministry of Health, WHO, UNICEF, NGO's, AIDS center, experts in narcology, epidemiologists, heads of HIV laboratories from Baku and different regions of Azerbaijan will participate on the workshop.

2. "Investing in Mental Health Getting Safe Future" – roundtable (Baku, April 6, 2007.)

The purpose of the Roundtable is to raise awareness of stakeholders on the issues of improving mental health of population in the context of Health Security.

The Roundtable will involve representatives from the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, chief doctors of mental health hospitals and out-patient clinics, psychiatrists, representatives of the Psychiatry Department of Azerbaijan Medical University and Psychology Department of Baku State University, non-government and international organizations, UN Department of Public Information (UN DPI) told the APA.
