Narcotic smugglers neutralized

Azerbaijan's National Security Ministry has neutralized an organized criminal group engaged in drug smuggling on the route Iran-Azerbaijan-Russia-Japan.

Ministry's public affairs center told the APA 67 kg 414 grams of narcotics were confiscated from the narcotic smugglers.

Jalilabad resident Dashgin Javadov, Ali Bayramli residents Chingiz Aliyev, his brother Royam Aliyev, Yusif Garakhanov, Yardimli resident Rafig Taghiyev, temporary Baku resident Bakhtiyar Huseynov, Iranians and others smuggled a large quantity of narcotics from Iran to Azerbaijan.

Dashgin Javadov instructed Rafig Taghiyev to order Iranians narcotics and bring it him. Rafig Taghiyev received narcotics from Azerbaijanis in Astanli village of Yardimli region, out of Azerbaijani customs control and took them to Dashgin Javadov in Jalilabad. Javadov handed the narcotics to Chingiz and Royam Aliyev brothers.

The investigation discovered that Aliyev brothers sent the narcotics to their sister in Pyatigorsk in Russia by couriers. The operations by the National Security Ministry prevented the planned transit of narcotics to the mentioned address.

The narcotic smugglers have been arrested, and criminal case is being investigated under articles 206.3.2, 234.4.1 and 234.4.3.
