Azerbaijan Chess Federation president Aynur Sofiyeva is going to resign.

"I have been appointed vice-chairman of the state committee for family, woman and child affairs by president’s order on March 16. This is a very responsible position. That's why I had to made choice ad preferred state job as I worked in federation on a voluntary basis. I should gather my strength in one field in order to justify president's confidence. I have appealed to the Federation Presidium today and expressed my intention to leave the post," she underscored.

Sofiyeva noted that new federation president should have financial support, APA reports.

"Presidium should convene a meeting to elect new president. Telling the truth, I have no nominee. But the person should surely have financial support and should act on the general policy of the government," she said.

Sofiyeva positively appreciated her activity in the post for past five year.

"Chess players and reporters are better to assess my activity. But I think I didn't work badly. Players' achievements during these years are obvious," she said.

Presidium is to consider the appeal in a few days.
