Ombudsman's representatives meet with Gobustan jail protesting lifers

Azerbaijani Ombudsman's representatives met with the prisoners going on hunger strike in Gobustan jail.

They talked with the prisoners and said that they will draw ombudsman Elmira Suleymanova's attention to the problem.

The representatives asked the prisoners to stop hunger strike taking into account that the society is already aware of their demands.

Eight of ten prisoners want commuting their life sentence to 15-year of imprisonment, two want changing of the decision saying that it is unjust. APA
