27 March 2007 [16:19] - TODAY.AZ
An appeal has been filed against the court decision on a two-month imprisonment of Azerbaijani parliamentarian Huseyn Abdullayev, Kamadar Nasibli, lawyer for the parliamentarian told.

He said that the decision of Nasimi district court is unjust, APA reports.

"Huseyn Abdullayev might have been released on bail or, there might have been a decision on house arrest. The appeal asks to change the form of arrest. There was no proof in the solicitation submitted to the court for arresting," he said.

The lawyer said that they will solicit for Fazail Agamali's arrest. The lawyer noted that the solicitation will be submitted to the investigation after all evidences are gathered.

"Though Fazail Agamali was the first to assault, insult, Huseyn Abdullaeyv was arrested. Fazail Agamali should also face charges on hooliganism and beating," he said.

Fazail Agamali told that he does not worry about the claim of Huseyn Abdullayev's lawyer.

"I am not guilty. I was offended and underwent physical pressure. General Prosecutor's Office will investigate the case," he said.

MPs Fazail Agamali and Huseyn Abdullayev had a conflict at the parliament's sitting on March 16. Fazail Agamali appealed to the law enforcement bodies and said that he was offended and underwent physical pressure.

The parliament annulled Abdullayev's parliamentary immunity at Prosecutor General Zakir Garalov's demand.

A criminal case has been launched against him on Article 221.2.2 (hooliganism) and 132 (beating). Huseyn Abdullayev is being kept in Bayil Detention Place #1.
