Azerbaijani Carpet exhibition held in Houston

Azerbaijani carpet exhibition was held in Houston (Texas State). The exhibition was organized by Houston Azerbaijani Society and the works of Ali Mughanli who is popularizing Azerbaijan carpet art for 20 years in the US were exhibited.

Ali Mughanli who is originated from Ardabil produced the audience the carpets of Shirvan, Iravan, Karabakh, Tabriz, Ardabil and his own carpets. The carpets with description of US presidents, 5 US $ and four seasons in Azerbaijan aroused particular interest. Commenting on the facts of presenting Azerbaijan carpets as Caucasian and in some cases as Armenian works of art Ali Mughanli emphasized that Caucasus were not inhabited by Armenians at those times.

At the end of the meeting, vice–president of Houston Azerbaijanis Society, Yusif Babanli informed the audience about the traditions of Azerbaijan weaving art spread in Karabakh, Zangazur, Goycha and attempts made by Armenians to capture Azerbaijan's wealth. APA
