Azeri national team wins after 34 months

Azerbaijani national football squad has won first match in Alma-TV Cup in Shymkent, Kazakhstan.

The team beat Uzbekistan 1-0. The only goal was scored by Serbian forward Branimir Subashich who made his debut in Azerbaijani national squad. He scored the goal in 58th minute. This is the first victory after 34 months.

Azerbaijani team won last time on May 28, 2004, in the match against Uzbekistan. Head coach Shahin Diniyev has included Jahangir Hesenzade, Usim Nduka, Ernani Pereyra, Zaur Heshimov, Samir Abbasov, Aslan Kerimov, Elmar Bakhsiyev, Markus Fereyra, Ilgar Gurbanov, Vugar Nadirov and Branimir Subashich in the lineup.

Other players Ferhad Veliyev, Sasha Yunisoglu, Ramin Guliyev, Andre Ladaga, Rahid Emirguluyev, Vagif Javadov, Kenan Kerimov were in reserve. Emin Imameliyev, Jeyhun Sultanov, Aleksandr Chertoganov and Leandro Gomesh were not included in the list of participants, APA reports.
