Russian Education and Science Minister Andrey Fursenko met with the rector of Baku Slavic University Kamal Abdulla.

Noting that Vladimir Putin is the first honorary doctor of Baku Slavic University Kamal Abdulla said the Russian language and literature is broadly taught in Azerbaijan, especially in this university, APA reports.

"The main aim of Russian state policy is to improve the Russian language. This is our priority too. Our university is a mediator in the expansion of the relations between the two countries. I am sure that this visit will improve the relations between the Baku Slavic University and Russia’s high schools," Kamal Abdulla said.

He added that they want to open Baku Slavic University’s branch in Yekaterinburg.

"We are ready for it, and we are waiting for you…"
Fursenko said he does not mind. The minister noted that he supports the idea of opening branches of Russian higher schools in Azerbaijan and branches of Azerbaijani high schools in Russia.

"I said while meeting with Azerbaijani Education Minister Misir Mardanov that I support opening branches which provide high quality education. I hope that we will solve this problem soon. I will inform the President about it," the Minister said.

Following this, Fursenko got acquainted with Baku Slavic University. Then the Russian Minister met with the university staff.
