Abulfas Garayev: "Equipment will be brought for production of films meeting modern standards in Azerbaijan"

As APA reports, Abulfas Garayev said that the executive order was issued in time.

"We have not gathered here to criticize the state of Azerbaijani cinema, but to discuss future projects and measures for the development of our cinema. You know that it is impossible to implement this process soon. But we should implement these projects in the nearest future. Our cinemas should be reconstructed and serve broadcasting of films."
 
The Minister stated that equipment will be brought for the production of films meeting modern standards in Azerbaijan and young specialists will be trained for the development of Azerbaijani cinema.

"The executive order also deals with restoration of Azerbaijani films made in the 20th century and keeping them in fund. But we do not know how the State Film Fund functions. It is impossible to find a film in the fund's archive. Last year Jamil Guliyev was elected the head of the fund. We buy Azerbaijani films from Gostfilm because of the lack of films," he said.

The minister noted that the executive order also gives instructions on preparing State program "Azerbaijani cinema in 2008-2010".

12-men working group led by Jahangir Mammadov, chief of the Cinematography Department of Culture and Tourism Ministry has been established to prepare this program.

The working group includes Jamil Guliyev, Jamil Ferecov, Eldar Guliyev, Yusif Kheyirov, Abbas Aliyev, Mushfig Hetemov and others.

National artist Rasim Balayev, director of State Film Fund Jamil Guliyev, director of Azanfilm film studio Elchin Hami Akhundov, director of Mozalan studio Orkhan Fikretoglu expressed their confidence that the executive order will serve the development of Azerbaijani cinema.
