Famous opera singer Sona Aslanova operated in U.S.

After the operation she has been placed in a rehabilitation center in Long Beach, California. US surgeons had to remove one of her kidneys. Sona had fell and injured her kidney four months before.

Her granddaughter, artist Lale Rehimova told APA that Sona is in bed now. Doctors say she is well.

Sona Aslanova has been living in state California for 14 years. She has taken up opera career with the support of Uzeryir Hadjibeyov and performed main woman roles since then. She played Nigar in 'Koroglu' opera, Gulnaz in 'O olmasin, bu olsun' operetta, Gulchohre in 'Arshin mal alan' operetta by Uzeyir Hadjibeyov.

After the retirement she has taught in National Conservatory. Her performances are kept in Gold Fund of the republic.
