MM deputy chairman Bahar Muradova noted that the campaign will be ongoing in 2006-2008. New laws on violence against women will be adopted and existing ones will be improved during this period.
MP Elmira Akhundova stated that according to the anonymous survey, 80 per cent of Azerbaijani women undergo the violence.
"Besides, underage girls are forced to get married and that impedes to get education. That's why their attendance is poor in high schools," she noted.
After the discussions Milli Majlis adopted statement on violence against women, APA reports.
