Nizami Pashayev: "Dope in my blood serves VP's interests"

"Money is more important for him than that the development of the sport," two times world champion on weight lifting Nizami Pashayev told the APA.

Talking about the last situation in the federation, Nizami Pashayev touched on the doping scandal after European championship. "I succeeded much progress till now. I have 2-3 or more doping-tests in a year. I do not know the exact reason of being punished, but I have my own reasons. Vahid Nazarov was interested in doping test last year. I think somebody put pill in my food. Either Nazarov or one of his relatives did it. When I was world champion there was rumors about me, but it appeared to be false. But then Nazarov told me that it if not in this case, but in other case it will happen," he said.

Pashayev said that he wants to be Olympic champion. "There are people preventing us from our career. As far as Nazarov is the trainer of our national team, I will not participate in the competitions. Our salaries have been deducted."

He said that Jahangir Asgerov the president of the federation stands at the head of it. He said that Ilham Aliyev is ill-informed about the situation in the federation. "Ilham Aliyev is the president of National Olympic committee. We ask him to pay attention to this sport. The national team will never succeed under Nazarov's chair. He involves his relatives to the team," he said.

Saying that he got proposals from Kazakhstan, Turkey, Russia and Iran, Pashayev noted that he prefers his mother land to others. "Why should I listen the anthem of other country? I am the man who loves his mother country. Russia calls me back again," he said.

The other member of the national team Turan Mirzayev said that vahid Nazarov causes some problems for them. "During the last world championship he told me that we do not need any medal. That is why he made me compete in 77kg not in 69kg," he said.

The vise president of the federation Vahid Nazarov did not agree with the claims against him. Nazarov said that Pashayev's salary was deducted because of two-year suspension. "There are sportsmen stronger than Nizami," he said.
