Nizami Gasimov: "Maharram Aliyev told Jahangir not to let IM interfere"

Nizami Gasimov gave testimony on the episode of Zamire Hajiyeva's kidnapping. "I was at work when Fakhraddin Mirzeyev called me and said that Jahangir's wife was kidnapped. I phoned Jahangir and he proved the fact. Immediately, I came to Jahangir's office. Maharram Aliyev, Javadaga Sultanov, Aydin Rzayev Ramiz Rzayev and two unknown men were in the office. They were reading the letter found under the stone. At that time, somebody phoned Jahangir and we went out of the room. I understood that he was speaking to the president because during other calls he was speaking in our presence. After his talk Jahangir said this case is under president's control and NSM will work on it. At this moment Javadaga said that Zamire was kidnapped by Zakir Nasirov and if he exerts pressure on him, he will release her," Gasimov said.

Then Gasimov said that Sultanov had information about the case. "When Azer Ismayilov was lost an investigation group was organized which included the officers of IM and from our department. Then Zakir Nasirov destroyed the group and did not let us investigate the fact. And investigation of other cases was destroyed or given to the investigation groups of Prosecutor's office or IM," he said.

Gasimov also stated that BMPB is not guilty that the members of Haji Mammadov's gang were in liberty, because if BMPB investigated the case, our officers would be able to uncover the criminal cases. Gasimov noted that he had normal relationship with Zakir Nasirov and they never had any dispute.

Then Zakir Nasirov interrupted Gasimov's speech and denied Gasimov's words. "I drove Rafael Gulamov, Mikayil Mammadov and Nizami out of my room because of arresting foreign citizen. That is why they were always against me," Nasirov said.

Haji Mammadov asked whether Javadaga Sultanov knew that Mammadov's gang kidnapped Majid Mammadov. Gasimov answered that he had no information about it. Gasimov was asked about Javadaga's place. He answered that Javadaga was in Baku. Mammadov said that he had more information about Javadaga. He wanted to talk about it but the judge advised to tell all that he knows when Javadaga Sultanov gives testimony. "I suspected Zakir Nasirov because he always was impeded the work of our department. I began to suspect him also after his call to Aydin Rzayev after Zamire's kidnapping. Because Aydin told me that it was the first time that Zakir phoned him. Zakir did not phone Javadaga if he had done we would have known," he said.

Then Adil Ismayilov said that there is controversy between Gasimov's testimony to the court and investigation. His solicitation was accepted and Gasimov's testimony to the investigation was repeated.
