Two Azerbaijanis arrested in Istanbul

Salahli said that the officers of the consul met with detained Azerbaijanis to find out the problems. Consul general said that the needed documents were prepared for releasing Azerbaijanis and sent to appropriate Azerbaijani organizations.

Salahli noted that they were arrested because of expiry of visa, APA reports.

"Short-termed visas are not favorable for Azerbaijanis. They want to extend their visas. During passport control local bodies find out that their visas expired. I plan to meet with Istanbul governor-general and the chief of municipality for preventing any serious measures," Salahli said.
