Bird flu monitoring starts in Azerbaijan

Next monitoring on bird flu starts today and will last till October 29. It will be the fifth monitoring in Azerbaijan conducted after April, State Veterinary Service at the Agricultural Ministry informs.

The monitoring conducted with the participation of Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry, Health Ministry and Azerbaijan National Academy Zoology Institute representatives will cover the whole country.

It will be held in Absheron peninsula, Devechi, Salyan, Aghjabedi and Lenkeran regions. The results of monitoring will be announced at the end of the first week of November.

The fourth monitoring conducted in September did not prove bird flu risk in Azerbaijan, APA reports.
