The Cuban winners in each division were Yan Bartelem? (48 kg), Andry Laffita (51 kg), Guillermo Rigondeaux (54 kg), Yuriolkis Gamboa (57 kg), Yordenis Ug?s (60 kg), Inocente Fiss (64 kg), Noelvis Veitia (69 kg), Emilio Correa (75 kg), Yunier Dortic?s (81 kg), Osmay Acosta (91 kg) and Odlanier Sol?s (+91 kg).
The most outstanding performances were those of Ugas in the 60-kilo class who downed 2005 world silver medallist Ramal Amanov 23-19, and Acosta, in 91 kilos, who beat also world silver medallist Elchin Alizade 28-10.
Inocente Fiss also had a tough rival in the 64-kilo division against world bronze medallist Emil Maharramov but the Cuban boxer performed brilliantly to end the bout in the second round.
Thus, Cuba accumulated three consecutive victories in Group A. They beat Kazakhstan 9-2 and swept the United States and Azerbaijan 11-0.
After this result, Cuba will now fight against Russia for the crown of the tournament on Saturday.
Russia dominated Group B also with three wins in as many outings.
