Elchin Shikhli: "Azeri journalists should make statement condemning murder of Anna Politkovskaya"

JDC chief Hugug Salmanov told the APA those letters have been posted on websites of above mentioned and other organizations. "I knew Anna personally. I regret that she was murdered. We sent the letters immediately after the incident," he said.

Azerbaijan Journalists Union chief Elchin Shikhli told the APA that they should make a statement condemning the murder of the journalist.

Democratic Journalist League chief Yadigar Mammadli said that Azerbaijani journalists express their attitude to all Russia mass media on murder case. "We have expressed our attitude to several international organizations. We condemn this and regret that such kind of crimes happen in CIS countries," Mammadli said.

Anna Politkovskaya was murdered on October 7.
