Thirteen Azerbaijani boxers to participate World Cup

He said 13 boxers will represent Azerbaijan in the competition. World Champion Agasi Mammadov will compete in the same weight with the team captain Shahin Imanov (57kg).

Javid Tagiyev and Zaur Teymurov will compete in 81kg weight. Last European Championship bronze medal winner Samir Mammadov will not take part in the tournament because of health problems.

The other sportsmen are Tural Mammadov (54kg), Sidney Olympic Game bronze medal winner Vugar Alekberov (+91kg), Jeyhun Abiyev (48kg), Rahim Najafov (51kg), Romal Amanov (60kg), Emin Maharramov (64kg), Ruslan Khairov (69kg), Rahib Baylarov (75kg) and Elchin Alizadeh (91kg).

China, Cuba, Russia, Kazakhstan and African, the US, Thailand teams will also participate in the tournament in Heydar Aliyev Sport Complex, APA reports.
